First of all… Happy Forth of July!!!
I was going to title this post ‘Tree House’ but that would be a bit misleading, I think!
My friend got a little tree in the mail and didn’t have anywhere to plant it. So she gave it to me. It’s a norway pine. When I took it out of the plastic package it seemed good an healthy, little green sprouts and everything. That was last week.
It’s been in the high 90s and even 100 degrees here lately, and I think it’s taking it’s toll on the poor little tree. It’s so fragile. I’ve tried to remember to water it every day, twice a day. But the green isn’t so green anymore. The needles by the trunk is still green, but I’m worried that is’ not quite going to make it. We don’t have much outdoor lighting to keep the guy up at night… though maybe that would be good? Hrm.
You can see the teeny tiny tree on the bottom left of the below picture. Well, maybe you can see it!

This weekend I stayed home! I didn’t go out and do any dog sports or competitions. Well of course I did some training in the back yard, and I also went to flyball practice tonight, but I didn’t enter a trial or a tournament or spend a whole day doing dog things! I did house things! I even pulled up the weeks from the patio. I don’t like to use poison on the weeds because the dogs are back there, and they eat the grass a lot. So I pull them up.
We have a stone patio and it’s pretty old. The stones are all crooked, not flat, and the space in between is no longer weed proof. So we get a lot of weeds that grow up between them. As you can see.
So I spent much of the morning on Saturday, until it got too hot, pulling up the weeds. And it did get hot and I didn’t use sun screen on my back so now I have a bit of a burn, dangit. =P Oh well, it’s not too bad.
It’s hard to get all the little weed bits out from between the stones. I tried my best until I was too hot and too tired. The dogs even stayed inside because it’s too hot for them outside. It was probably in the high 90s on Saturday, though now I forget. Tonight at flyball practice it was hot, too, and we could have used more shade. I do understand why people live in southern California… the weather is so nice there!
I also swept as good as I could. Which isn’t all that great because I get tired.
But I was happy with the job. My husband and I also cleaned the front room on Saturday. He vacuumed and I dusted and mopped. And the house is so much more pleasant now! I even cleaned the kitchen some this morning. Next weekend I hope to spend some more time in the spare bedroom getting my junk organized a bit. Yeah… it’s my junk room. Everyone has to have a junk room, don’t they?

So this is my messy yard. And someday, when I get a weekend off dog sports, maybe I’ll have the time, and the motivation, on the same day, to actually do something with it!
Actually I like to think it’s not too bad. Maybe someone will give me a gift basket with yard care stuff inside. LOL. I need to pull up the weeds that are growing in between the stones of the patio. And I’ve tried a number of things on the flower beds that are by the house… they probably were some nice flower beds at one point, but I just don’t have the time or motivation to actually plant and care for flowers in them. I tried some low water plants but I think it’s a bad spot for them. Currently they are covered with bark, but I don’t like the look of it. So I want to actually cover it with some red gravel. I think the red gravel looks really nice.

I really don’t like how our yard, as you can see by the brick wall, kinda an L shape. Behind the garage and over the brick wall is the neighbor’s yard. I like this little house, but I don’t like the yard layout and I don’t like that it’s brick. I’m afraid we’ll have an earthquake and it’ll crumble on us in our sleep someday. I sure hope that doesn’t happen!

So… I want to move. Have I talked about that before? I dunno. But I want to move to a more rural area. And, having talked it over with my Husband, he wants to move to a more rural area, too. And so we are thinking of the Richfield, Utah, Area.
It’s about 2.5 hours south of us, and is in Sevier County, Utah. Here is a map of the area. Richfield is in the center. I think if you click this picture, you can see a bigger version… I’m using blogDesk and I’m not positive I got the thumbnail working right, but I think it’s okay. Guess I’ll find out when I publish this post.
So anyway… I’ve been looking at some websites for property down there. Ideally we would love to have about 10 or 20 acres of property. Buy now, or in the next couple of years. We could even go camp on it, or put a trailer on it to visit it frequently. And then, after our house is paid off, we could build a house down there. And then, after I retire, we could move. I would so love to build a house! Of our own, and design it for dogs! And have some walk in tubs in the bathrooms…. oh I love to dream.
That would be awesome. The only bad part is that it’s cold down there in the winter. Just as cold as it is up here in Salt Lake City, Utah. And I’d prefer a warmer climate. Though with warmth comes bugs, and I do so dislike bugs.
We are going to be looking around for a while, see what we can see. I sent an email to a realtor, so maybe something will pan out!

We have the most awful sink in the whole entire world. It’s disgusting. I’m sure it’s original with the house… 1943. The kitchen is really small, and the sink is just gross. The sides have chipped away and gunk gets in there. There is no garbage disposal. And the faucet it just old and leaks.
After we pay the house off, hopefully in only a couple of years, we will get a whole new kitchen. The entire kitchen really needs a makeover. I want to tear out all the cabinets (that are too short for a regular box of cereal), the floor, hopefully one of the walls, and remove all the appliances. I want a gas stove, better cabinets, and a tile floor. I love to go look at brand new kitchens. I so want one!
So don’t get too grossed out if you look at the bigger version of this sink. Ewwww!

Soon.. hopefully very soon, this little turtle flower pot in my back yard will have flowers in it! I’m tired of the cold. I am so ready for spring. My fingers are just itching to take some nice pictures of color, flowers, blue skies, and animals. Then I can post them on my photo blog, Tail Pix. That blog is, I find funny, blocked from my work. When I chose the domain name I didn’t think it could be interpreted as something bad… lol but now that I read it, I know it can be. Oh well!
When it’s warm I just want to be outside, but usually I’m stuck at work on my office furniture.. mainly the chair, as I don’t usually climb on my desk. LOL.
This has been a nice relaxing day for me. Did some Entrecard Dropping… until I hit the new max per IP.. which is 600. makes it rather hard to get 900 drops in for my 3 accounts. I complained on the Entrecard forums and sent a PM to one of the head honchos. Hopefully they’ll change that new, awful, rule! I’m just going to get to bed now, it’s late, and I really should get to be earlier. But I upgraded my skin on Tip Tail and did some other blog stuff, and now I’m ready for bed!

Today is the day of the year I hate the very most. It’s not that I hate Daylight Savings Time… though I really don’t care for it and wouldn’t mind it getting darker earlier in the evening. I just hate this time change.
And I hate it (yeah I know ‘hate’ is a strong word, and this is a strong feeling) because getting up at 5am for work every morning is painful enough. Having to adjust to getting up at 4am every morning is a killer. And it will probably take me a couple of weeks to adjust to it.
I do like the fall back time change okay, because it’s the longest day of the year for me… getting an extra hour. Now that’s cool, let’s always have 25 hour days! But I guess the Earth won’t change it’s rotation just for me. Dangit!
Anyway, I’m having a nice easy weekend. Going to take Muffit, Chase and Tatum to practice flyball today. Yay! It will be Muffit’s first time out. He’s not ready to run yet but I want to see what he’s like in the environment and with the other dogs and people. Plus, it is a gorgeous day! The sun is shining and maybe I’ll get some nice pictures. I even can open my exterior shutters (if I had any) to let all the sunlight in!

Today I am going to put all my clothes in my new wardrobe! Yay! I wonder if the husband is awake yet. I hope so, since he is in the way of all the clothes. He’s been sleeping downstairs since we have too many dogs in our house. I hope he comes back up soon.
Anyway, I love my new bed. And I love the new wardrobe. Hopefully I can go jogging today too. It’s a down day today, I love down days. Tomorrow will be busy again with dog training and my Husband’s sister is having Thanksgiving in the evening so I’m going to that, too.
And I really need to lose this weight. Darnit, I wish Weight Watchers would have their 7 day free trial so I can check it out.

And here it is! My new mattress and bed frame! Oh.. I do so love Ikea. They have such nice furniture and it can be so inexpensive. Of course you can spend as much as you want. Which is, in my case, not very much at all.
This is a foam mattress and it was the cheapest queen size foam mattress at $250.00. The frame was also the cheapest frame I could find, at $99. Then it needs a slatted support underneath, for $50, which still wasn’t too bad. The sheets here $9 per sheet.
And look how nice it is. Already my neck is feeling better, and I’m not getting bitten. And we have a mattress cover on order, by mail, that should be here by next Tuesday. Water proof so if the dogs pee, on purpose or on accident, it won’t get into the mattress.
I put the thing together on Wednesday afternoon. The maids didn’t end up coming, they were too busy and had car trouble. That’s okay, though. My husband said I should just use the darn bed, since I bought it. And I really am loving it. And I’m liking being off the ground. The mattress used to just be on the ground and that bugged me. Literally! LOL. This one is fairly short, which I like best, and Angle can still get on with no problems.
I want to go back to bed!

Our dryer’s air vent is a mess. It is too long, and too narrow. We have to dry our clothes at least 2 times, sometimes 3. And I really need to get it working I can dry my women’s lingerie.
My husband tore open the basement ceiling today to get to the darn pipe. The advantages of having a House Husband are coming clear!
Anyway, it was stuffed full and had a 90 angle too, that was stoppering up the exhaust.
He vacuumed it out, will repair the angle to make it straight, and hopefully it’ll be better now. I have some clothes to wash so hopefully they can be dried today, too.
