Veggie Burger Okay I’m still learning how to use the new Digital SLR Camera I bought. Here is a picture of lunch. Don’t you like seeing a picture of Lunch? :) Veggie Burger at Squatters Pub Brewery. Yeah, ate too much, but that’s okay it will hold me the entire rest of the day and my weight is still slowly dropping.

So anyway I think this is still a bit blurry. I set the ISO rather high because I didn’t want to use the flash in such close quarters. If you look at the big original you can see the bun is just a touch blurry. The rest of the settings were on Automatic. Hrm.

Lunch was good, nonetheless. The Sweet Potato Fries were good, hopefully they have a lot of fiber… and maybe not so much fiber cable as I bet that’s not so good to eat!

So far I do like the camera. I like how it feels in my hands and I like the images it takes. Still, I want super clear and super sharp. So we’ll see how to manage that. I have more reading to do.

Tatum and Chase Okay I have done a couple of things today on the blogs… to get them caught up. I found a new skin, what do you think? I like it.. I think. I’ll leave it on for a day or two. But I think it represents me. Sunshine and Night. I love them both. Night time is my safe time. I love the dark.

And I have a new flickr plugin too, as you can see by this picture. I got my new Olympus camera, too, digital SLR, and as soon as I figure it out more I’ll post more pictures from it, too!

Now it’s time to get off the computer for a while.. and watch some TV, maybe get some mesothelioma but since I really don’t know what it is, I better go check it out! G’Night!

Neglecting my Blogs

My goodness! I am not only behind here, I’m also behind on Pixie Tail and Tatum Tot, too. Because of doing so many upgrades. Hrmph. And so I’m going on about it which I probably shouldn’t do… but I have to say, I need to update my sidebar… it’s a mess. And I still have to install half, or more, of my plugins! There’s always something to do!

Anyway, I have to go to the store tonight and buy a Compact Flash card for my new camera. It came yesterday. Wow, only took 3 days. I just ordered it last Thursday! And no card.. so off I go to buy one tonight.

I’m still tired, don’t want to clean much at home… do dishes, or vacuum or mop. We need a dyson vacuum, as we’ve heard they are the best for dog hair. But with all our tile, we only vacuum downstairs anymore. I’ve heard that the Dyson Animal is the best for picking up animal hair, and a couple of my friends have them. They really like them a lot. Looks like these guys have a few different listings for the Dyson Animal, I’m going to check out the differences and see what they are.

Time for bed yet?

Bought a Digital SLR Camera

I don’t have it yet… just bought it on Amazon today. It’s used, though supposed to be in good shape. It is quite a nice price ($360 total).

I decided on the Olympus Evolt E300. I was looking seriously at the Cannon Rebel XT, but it was a bit out of my price range.

This camera has the lens, software, and the whole she’bang with it. Manuals etc. Slightly used. And with all the waiting I’ve done on ebay, checking out prices for the Cannon, I just got tired of waiting. Plus, there’s not that many listed on ebay. So I opted for the Amazon option.

I hope it works out well. I have lost 2 cameras (little point and shoot ones) since September 07, so I figure it’s a sign for me to buy a good decent SLR camera for once. Digital. I never even owned a film SLR camera. But I knew how to use them. However, I have forgotten it all, so I’m going to have to relearn everything!

I look forward to taking some good dog pics, and crusing pics, with the new camera! (I refuse to loose this one!)

New Camera

Kodak EasyShare V1003Well, since I lost my nice digital camera at a rest area on the way to dog camp last month, I finally broke down and bought a new one. Good thing I didn’t loose my video camera.

I bought a Kodak EasyShare V1003. It’s 10 MP and so far I like it. It was for sale at Costco and I think it was a pretty good price. I charged the battery all last night. I have a 2Gig SD card that I put in, and at 10MP the card will hold over 700 pictures. Not too shabby.

This is a big picture but I like to be able to see the photo details. And if you click on the image it will open a new window with the full size image. I think it has nice clear detail.

One of the most critical things about digital cameras is the amount of time it takes to take a picture. So far this one isn’t too bad, and I’ll check out the action shot options. When taking pictures of the dogs, I need it to shoot right when I click, not 3 seconds later or the dog will be gone by then.

Burning DVDs

Ah the ongoing, never ending, eternal trauma of burning DVDs. Hrmph. I bought Roxio yesterday. I decided I needed to buckle down and get a good program where I can make menus and arrange my videos and pictures and burn them onto disks.

And so of course many problems. First is, of course, learning the software. Took me a while to figure out which app to use that would do what I want. Okay figured that out. Got my minidisks from my camcorder and imported a couple of them with the handycam software. Well, then Roxio couldn’t read it. Hrmph. Used Roxio to import… okay fine, but instead of having each scene it’s own little movie, it’s bunched into one big movie. Ugh.

So I know I read about detecting scenes… off to read about that. Okay then I finally figure out that when I’m creating the DVD with the menu, I can then split the movie into chapters. Okay cool! So I load up a test DVD and burn, and put it in the DVD player and it works yay!

(Okay I get the couch back, two of the three dogs on it just jumped off lol.)

Anyway, so then I load up all my movies from minidisc, arrange the menu, import them all, arrange titles and everything… and cool thing, looks like all my minidisc movies will fit on the same DVD. Burn it… put it in the DVD player after a long time of burning, and… no menu. :(

Ugh! Okay blah. So I go back in, take out half the movies and reburn. Stick the DVD back into the DVD player on the TV.. and it works! Woo Hoo!

So I wasted one LightScribe disk. Figured the next disc would be a cheaper kind to test. Worked, though. So now I am copying the cheap disk to the LightScribe disk which I will be giving to my friends who came to camp with me.

So learning curve, eh? Computers are such a pain. Can’t live with ‘em, Can’t throw ‘em out the window.
