Goin’ on Vacation

Okay.. my cruise isn’t until October, but I’m starting to get excited! And really it’s only three months away now. I have to go get recertified for scuba diving as I have a scuba dive planned in Grand Cayman. I have always wanted to go to the Cayman Islands so I’m pretty excited about it.

I’m flying into Tampa with some friends, and we might need a car rental once we get there. I always am looking for the best deal on car rentals, as it’s not my most favorite part of the trip. Advantage has some specials on Luxury and Convertable Car rentals. Up to 50%. But I don’t like convertibles… ever since my second rollover I’m afraid because there is no hard shell over my head.

I gotta get that scuba going, and get my Harry Potter Robes cleaned as I’ll be there over Halloween!

What’s Up Out There?

I think this is kinda odd… once in a while I’ll blog for Pay Per Post… which is a subsidiary of Izea, a social media advertising company. And they have asked me to blog about Pay Per Post… www.payperpost.com, which I think is odd because they recently started Social Spark, their new company, and I thought PPP was on it’s way out?

Maybe not. :) I hope not. I like Pay Per Post better. The layout is great, it’s easy to navigate, and they need advertisers! I wish they would have more dog and animal advertisers. And when they do, I wish I could snag them. Because I know a lot about dogs and dog health and dog training.

Izea offers bog sponsorship (which I personally don’t like because it has an entire page that loads before your blog does… hrm…) but it also offers blog posts (like this one) and product sampling. Now the product sampling is one of the best things, in my humble opinion… because I love to get and try out products, and then post about them!

So if you are an advertiser and are looking for a good way to get your product noticed, check out Izea and Pay Per Post! You might like what you find. :)

Techie Mice

Dangit, the left click button on my mouse is being flaky. When I forget about it, I keep clicking and I wonder why my laptop has locked up! Especially since I just reinstalled Vista on the darn thing. I have to remember that no… it’s my mouse. But I really don’t like the touchpad and so I’m suffering through the mouse for a while.

I’ve been restoring backups of my pictures from the last few years. I’d post more, but I don’t know if you’d really relate to the old pictures like I do. :) I’m just so glad I have reliable hosting and good backups! If I were to get shared hosting again, I’d be checking out Web Hosting Geeks because they have independent reviews and lists of good cheap web hosts. And charts and comparisons are my favorites, because I like to be able to compare packages. That is a very useful thing in a website and I recently used something similar in order to pick a photo gallery for my web cam page.

Maybe I’ll post more old photos anyway… because I like them! And I love to reminisce. :)

Go Down Gas

I drive a lot to do my dog sports with my dogs… unfortunately gas prices are having an effect on us. Are they having an effect on you? I’ve heard that in smaller towns people are going into serious debt because they can’t afford to pay their bills and the gas prices at the same time. :( Some people are even in danger of losing their homes.

Even school kids are needing help getting to and from school, and the program Divide The Ride can help out. They match you up with people who can drive kids to school. And they match you with people you know so you don’t have to worry about sending your kids off with strangers.

The world is too dangerous anymore, so being with people you know and trust is very important. This service has been on the news, too… the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. It is an interesting service!

The Cleaning Weekend

Filed Under (Info) by User ImageCynthia Blue [More Me!] on 01-07-2008

5238dd240x180publicI spent a lot of time last weekend cleaning the house. Ugh. I really don’t like to clean… but having six dogs (soon to be seven, a foster is coming back today ugh), we really do need to clean a lot. And not only clean, but vacuum and dust and mop the floors. And with our collie Lucy regurgitating lately, we should really clean even more than we do.

So I’ve been looking at Dirt Devil vacuums, and I really love the idea of a cordless vac. That way I can take it from room to room and vacuum up all the dog hair and fluff balls in the corners that end up floating around the house. We may have smooth collies instead of rough, but they sure do shed. And I’d love to have an Energy Star compliant vac! Which the Dirt Devil AccuCharge is!

So now I can chase after those darn fur-bunnies… or dust-bunnies if you will, that are running rampant all over the house, and suck them up in a Dirt Devil! Because you know, those darn fur-bunnies move pretty fast. Especially when a dog carries them around… but then again, our dogs don’t usually grab them and run with them, fortunately! Instead they kinda hide in the corners and just sit there. lol

Domain Score Card

Well I am saddened to say that my domain name scorecard is rotten! LOL for this domain it is a 1 out of 10. But it’s a nice tool for businesses if you are interested in seeing how your domain name rates.

The questions are, mainly, if you have other spellings or versions of your domain registered. And for this personal site of mine I do not. But for business sites it’s a good idea to do so, in case someone else takes a misspelled domain name similar to yours, and maybe can take some of your customer business. And we wouldn’t want that for sure you know?

If you have a business and are interested in your score, check out Network Solutions. I had my domains hosted with them years ago and was always happy with their service. And the services they provide are very helpful to domain owners and business owners.

Their quiz is easy to take and will only take a few moments of your time, and could be invaluable for your website and your business! If I had a business, which I may eventually have (photography?) then I’ll use it too!

Writing, Anyone?

One of the things I’ve always wanted to do with myself is write a book. I have an idea in my head… and yeah I know, I know, many people want to write a book. Well, we should just all do it! :) And maybe Self Publishing would be the way to get the book out to the public.

Worldclay makes it fast and easy to self publish. I’d love to pick my own cover, colors, and styles. And you can even write the book online in their service and save it so you can finish it later. Sweet!

What Is it with Gas?

Filed Under (Info) by User ImageCynthia Blue [More Me!] on 27-05-2008

The price of gas keeps going up all over the country, and the world. It’s awful. Completely awful. Many of my agility friends are not going to be traveling as much this summer because the gas is more expensive than the hotel… and the trial fees, put together. Maybe getting some credit card gas rewards would help out in the gas prices.

Though we have to be careful with credit, always. I pay mine off every month… which is being hard lately, as I’ve been spending too much on the card. Hrmph.

But anyway, if you are looking for a credit card and reviews, and you are responsible about it, and you have some things to buy, You might be interested in CreditCardsClub.com.

This is a three paycheck month for me, and I also get on call pay in my check this week… so I’m planning on buying some dog training equipment for agility. I can’t wait until it comes!

Find Pet Insurance

Filed Under (Info) by User ImageCynthia Blue [More Me!] on 18-05-2008

As ya’ll know, I have six dogs and two cats, and sometimes the cost of medical insurance can get pretty pricey. Especially now since three of them are getting older… Lucy, Levi and Angel. Lucy is 9, Levi is 8, and we don’t know how old Angel is, but we think she’s about 11 or 12. She’s really starting to slow down, poor girl.

So anyway once in a while I toy with the idea of getting health insurance for the crew. But finding the best deal on pet insurance is difficult, because there are so many ins and outs to consider. And it’d be nice to find a place that takes credit cards, because that’s such an easy way to pay. Though we do pay all of our credit cards off on a monthly basis because we hate debt.

There is a website by Money.co.uk that gives a great comparison tool for various pet insurance plans that you can use to find the best one for you. I’m going to go and see what is the best for my pack. Though I still suspect it’d be a bit expensive for us. But if you only have a couple of dogs or cats, it really would be great to have the peace of mind of having a health insurance policy on the animals! I wish I could put them on my own health insurance… that’d be great!

Dog Products And Health

I am always looking for good quality Dog Products for my dogs. Especially for Chase, who has nasty allergies and itches a great deal when his allergies act up. He has grass and environmental allergies, and he looses his coat during the winter months a lot. It gets all raggedy and thin, and he has no undercoat. So I try to look for hypoallergenic products for him that will help his coat be healthy and reduce his allergies. In fact, he’s probably due for a bath already.

Dog Shampoo is important because it is ph balanced for the dog. We do sometimes use people shampoo on our dogs, but not often, and not on Chase. I think maybe I should take Chase to a Dog spa to get him fixed up! And of course it’ll have to be all natural products, because I want to do best by him and the environment. Maybe getting him some good healthy shampoo will help his coat and deliver some vitamins that he is missing. Though he’s on a raw healthy diet, so inside he is healthy! I actually went raw to see if it would help him… well, it didn’t really. Unfortunately.

He’s our goofy border collie. Might be a mix… and they say purebreds are unhealthy. Chase is our least healthy dog, he has a low thyroid, too. But we are doing all we can for him to keep him as healthy as possible!
